Inspired by the 1940’s modernist movement on the West Coast of Canada, West Coast Modern is focused on finding the right custodians for exceptional living spaces of all kinds. The central themes of West Coast Modernism are flowing spaces, natural light, truth to materials, and the relationship between architecture and its environment. It’s portfolio of homes is carefully curated and extensively researched, with images by editorial photographers. Blend Projects is a group of prefabricated builders who endeavour to build in a less wasteful, more nature-inspired way. Kelly is Blend’s Creative Director. This home, designed in collaboration with Blend, was built on the ancestral and unceded traditional territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, which encompass multiple Indigenous communities. This 1800 square foot home which features 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, an open concept kitchen and living room, plus a TV den and office space with a murphy bed to host extended family. A large open deck spans the expansive west facing ocean and forest vista. The home features a wood burning stove from Stove America, custom millwork by 506 Woodshop, furniture by Sundays, and appliances by Fisher & Paykal.

Surrounded by cedar forest and a short walk to the sea, this 1350 sq ft Rancher 7 model on Lyoness Road was designed for a family of three to build lasting memories. Featuring two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a den/guest room.

Rainbow Road became Blend’s first spec cabin: its humble 1200 square footprint allowed as many trees as possible to remain, yet includes 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in an efficient layout, providing plenty of space an expanding family.
